These gowns offer high quality fabrics, detailing and workmanship. All gowns from this line are in silks only. The Only synthetics are in the linings and under-linings (and this can be done in silk if you prefer). These gowns are underlined and most contain a sub-lining which instead of the typical nylon horsehair around the hem, offer a soft, 100% natural cotton batting cut 6 inches wide to hold the hem of the skirt out. Formalities will take a range of measurements, to obtain the best fit possible. These gowns require at least 6 months to make and require a number of fittings to insure that perfect fit. The fabric is purchased from one of the finest fabric shops in the Northern Virginia area.

 Formalities can also create any special occassion dress you wish made.  We can make them out of silk or any fabric of your choosing.  We have made Mother of the bride and groom gowns, party dresses, Christening gowns, and Communion dresses.
